At the Mountaintop…

The Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. notable for his pivotal role in ending the legal segregation of African-American citizens in the United States once said during his final speech, “I’ve been to the mountaintop…and he’s allowed me to go up to the mountain. I’ve looked over and I’ve seen the promised land”. Who’s he? The all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-present man himself, God, of course. Do you believe that this encounter occurred?

I simply have faith in this encounter. I believe. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. is a true prophet. Yes, the words that prophets bore are God’s words, not their own. But remember, prophets were also ministers of God’s justice, just like Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. Throughout his life, King persistently highlighted the philosophical and theological reasons for the existence and reality of sin and stressed the importance of living as God’s people. Similar to King, the Prophet, Jeremiah, served as a tremendous display of faithfulness and courage in the face of great discouragement, opposition, and small results from the people of Jerusalem. Whether it be spoken to the people of Jerusalem, or the individuals residing down south in the racially segregated Montgomery, Alabama, both had the ability to expose one’s spiritual and moral foolishness in resisting and rejecting against God.

A true prophet’s message has the competency in making individuals angry. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. did just that! Angry to the point of revolt (nonviolent methods of protest by individuals fed up with the racial segregation and discrimination in the southern U.S), and literally made the white-racists angry, infuriated, livid and so on. You get the point 😉 LOL.

This man is the epitome of what an individual who is devoted to God’s call can accomplish. EVERYTHING!

He’s a Legend. An Activist. A Martyr ://

LONG LIVE THE KING!

Gone, but never forgotten – RIP KING
